Guru doesn’t have to be physically present all the time with the seekers to be present with them!
I could have died back in mid-1980s hadn’t it been for one of the most miraculous and incredulous rescue events that I experienced. I lived in USA and my Guru Ji, Swami Mohandas Ji, in India during the time of the life and death event.
Course of life brought me to live temporarily in a small little town of Spring Valley, New York. It was right at the border of New Jersey, which is where I had my full time job.
My office was in the same campus as the Company’s factory and warehouse. Therefore, the whole campus was away from all residential areas. There were hardly any other buildings around within at least half a mile. The campus was down a steep winding road.
It used to take me about 15 minutes to drive from home to office through street lights. These were the days before us humans had fancy technology- no cell phones, laptops or Internet.
So, one day we had a snowy blizzard. Normal human would look out the window and say, “It is too dangerous, all roads are totally blocked with snow. I am not risking it. No one is coming into the office today so I’m not going anywhere either”.
But NO! Not me! The conscientious employee that I was I got in the car and started driving to work. There was not a soul around to be seen! All white everywhere.
Most of the roads were not cleared however the main road right by the warehouse office was cleared. You might know that when roads are cleared of snow, the snow piles up 2-3 feet high on sides of the road.
I had to drive so,so,so slow to avoid skidding, especially down that steep hill, that it took me 1 hour instead of usual 15 minutes to get there. Surprise, Surprise! No one around. Not a single person! Office closed. It was almost eerie- the quietness and the white everywhere.
I started to drive back of course, up the steep road. Slowly, slowly, very slowly. I made it to the top of the steep road and ever so slowly turned left to get on to the main road that took me straight to me home. (I think I must been half brain dead from the sinus congestion I had been having due to the high central heat running in the apartment, to risk such an adventure on snow)
Well, this is the place and time where horrible event happened.
My left rear tire got stuck in the snow. No matter what I tried the car wouldn’t budge.
Great! What do I do? I started walking down the steep road to see if I could find someone around the warehouse campus possibly. I wasn’t dressed well enough to be walking in snow and bitter cold. I started to notice difficulty in breathing. I thought it was due to breathing in the extremely cold air but later on I found out that it was allergy induced asthma attack I was having.
Already about 100 yards down I started to walk back up towards the car. I needed to sit in the car and start breathing properly again. With every step it was getting harder and harder to breathe.
Hurray! I made it to the car. But by then it had become a full blown asthma attack!!! I looked up and down the long main road. Again not a soul in sight. Remember there were no cell phones and no open building around to use landline phone. I stood holding on to trunk of the car.
I looked at my watch. About 10:30am. I don’t know how long I stood there trying to breathe. It must been just moments after that I must have fallen in the snow or on the car and most likely died.
The End!
But no! This is what happened next:
I was sitting in the car, breathing perfectly fine, waiting at the traffic signal to turn green so I could turn left into the apartment complex. I was sitting in the car as if it was just like any other normal day returning home from office!!
Here at that moment I had no memory of the 2+ hours of ordeal I had been through. It was like a blank state of mind. I looked at the watch because the left turn signal seemed to be taking a long time to turn green. The time was about 10:40am.
It was after I got home, settled back into warm apartment in cozy clothes that I remembered the whole episode.
I still didn’t remember, nor do I remember to this day, what had happened to me after I blacked out.
Who rescued the car out of the snow?
How did I get back in the car?
How could it be that 10 minutes later I had no symptom of asthma or allergy when I was at the traffic light getting back home?
Most of all:
How is it possible that about 10 minutes only had elapsed between me passing out by the office and getting back home? The math is impossible here!
Even if someone had shown up to rescue the car right then it still would have taken at least 1 to 1.5 hours for me to get back home.

Such is the promise and Love of my Satguru to his devotees. He’d appear simultaneously in different places at same time beyond the confines of time and space. Guru Ji, a perfect yogi, is not confined to the limited boundaries of body, time and space. He is ever present.
Physically we were continents apart and still my Guru Ji was with me!
There are numerous other people who have been saved by Guru Ji, literally brought back from jaws of death. I hope to add as many as possible in the near future.
Keep breathing and Blessed Be 🙂
